The Princess and I

Did you know I met a princess
just the other day?
She looked so very pretty
that I stopped to say g'day.

I knew that she was special,
a royal of great reknown.
I knew it from the way she spoke,
and that she wore a crown.

"Vandaag ben ik jarig!"
she giggled gleefully.
And then she blew out every candle ...
... a one, and-a-two and a threeeeeeee!

I wrote this special poem for a special girl, my (new) niece Sanne.
